Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness of 925.

Gold vermeil involves a layer of gold to give it durability. We use 18k gold that layered over the sterling silver base. All of our 18k gold vermeil pieces are stamped with 925 because the base is sterling silver (925).

Our jewellery is primarily hand made in Italy and Turkey, with a few pieces made locally in Australia.

Chemically, silver is not very reactive—it does not react with oxygen or water at ordinary temperatures, so does not easily form a silver oxide (dark tarnish on your jewellery).

However, when exposed it can oxidise with perfumes, creams and hair care products. Please remove your jewellery before applying these products so you can enjoy it forever.

The gold vermeil might fade to the silver base colour if you don't protect it from perfumes, soaps and hand sanitiser. So please take your jewellery off if you want to enjoy the golden shine forever. If not it will become silver which is the base of the jewellery.

In case your jewellery oxidises (which is a natural reaction of silver to the elements) you can clean your jewellery with a silver cloth and it will look as good as new again.

Please store your jewellery in a dry place when not worn to protect it from the elements.
